For 8 years I've helped media companies, brands and creators understand their audiences — uncovering the value media plays in people's lives. My work spans the BBC, Audible and Paramount, and I hold a PhD in media. As a lecturer at City St George's, University of London, I taught 400+ undergraduate and postgraduate students about media audiences, marketing analytics and digital consumers.
My argument is simple: your reach isn't your value. Who is in your audience — their composition, their trust, their capacity to act — is what unlocks commercial opportunity. Size tells you how many people are in the room. It tells you nothing about who they are or what they're worth.
